Salvation

Salvation

30″x40″ acrylic on canvas

Painting during 8:30AM Sunday worship service. This was spontaneous, painted mostly with a pallet knife. The cross in the middle was done spontaneously at the moment that two people were receiving salvation.

As I was painting it, I felt that the Lord was replacing a heart of stone with a heart of flesh. The blackness around the heart represents sin, and the hardness (stone) being blown away.

“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 36:26)

“I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.” (Ezekiel 11:19)
